Wine Wednesday May 30th

Frances will be back in time from Italy for our Wine Wednesday on May 30th. This month she will feature the fascinating region of Friuli.

In the very North East of Italy and bordering Slovenia, this region is mostly known for their white wines but they also make some amazing reds featuring a grape called Refosco.

This region is known for the quality of their wines. In fact Frances says unreservedly that if you see a wine from Friuli on the shelves in B.C. you should just buy it as the quality is always there but the supply often isn’t.  Currently we do seem to always have some wines from there but that was not always the case.  Having said that she will try to work her usual magic to get in some of the harder to find wines such as Tocai Friulano or even Picolit if she can find one.  Frances already has a beautiful Pinot Grigio and a red featuring Refosco.

Peter will still be in Italy so this gives our Chef Sam Benedetto a chance to show you what he can do and we know all of you will be happy with the result.

Still at the same great price of $75.00 including tax and gratuity.

Since Frances is in Italy, you can also reserve with Yann, yann@zambris.ca

Wine Wednesday April 25th

Wine Wednesdays

Wednesday April 25 – 6:00 p.m.

WINES OF SARDINIA

This island off the West Coast of Italy spent 400 years under Spanish rule and the wines reflect this.

Starting with a beautiful white wine called Vermentino di Sardegna we will move on to red wines from the Monica and Cannonau grapes.  These wines represent a uniquely Sardinian quality.

We will then go on to taste wines from Agricola Punica which is a joint venture between a leading Sardinian producer and Tenuta San Guido who make the Super Tuscan Sassicaia.

Paired with Peter Zambri’s food for the fantastic price of $75.00.

(includes tax and gratuities)
